I do like the colour scheme you used for this, and the 'dark-to-light' background colouring. But the odd really light strip that starts at the bottom right corner of the piece kind of defeats the purpose, maybe it's just me.
I really like his hair though. The colouring is really well done and I just like the shape ;D.

the lighting is confusing me, think this would have been better flat. i like the eye and hair color
