You should really practice on designing those quills on the top of his head. Everything else seems okay except for the leg on the left, is kinda odd shaped.
defiantly not bad for a first custom. u should check out my page formy 1st custom . anyways a few tips from one spriter to another:
- well you already know you need moe shading
- try to make yoursprite a little smoother, he kinda looks like a robot =/
- you need a little morework on the quills
other than that, eveything else is A.Ok
