. Also doubled as my final project in Beginning Sculpture, in a frantic two classes that eventually ended with me staying after school for six straight hours with my face inches from a torch. The sheet metal was originally going to be thicker and cut with an actual CUTTING torch, but because my teacher is a complete spaz he forgot to show me how to use one, despite my asking him multiple times over the course of two weeks prior. So, I took the thinnest stuff I could find and cut it with a normal torch. I kind of like the gritty effect though. I dunno.
The mantis is only about 6" high. I want to see if I can make a larger one later on next semester, but in the meantime I'd say I'm pretty damned proud of myself for once."
