There's a short story behind this picture:
Trav decides to go back to being a musician after serving six more years in prison (Prior he spent 15 years of his life in prison). Jesús, still known and wanted by the police as a thief and a junkie, is Trav's partner.
Trav himself used to be a junkie but cut off from smack after a near death experience long before. He doesn't want it to happen to Jesús, so Trav wants him to go clean.
Accepting, Jesús goes cold turkey for a while. On the third day (usually the worst junk-sick day) he gives up and goes back to his junk habit to get well.
He doesn't tell Trav this.
And lies about kicking the habit.
A week or so pass.
Eventually, Jesús runs out of junk. The only way he'd get the money for junk was from Trav and he didn't want to tell Trav the truth.
So he goes cold turkey again.
Trav notices Jesus got back on junk after seeing him sick again....which is exactly what's going on in this illustration. :(
This will most likely hurt their relationship.
