Concept of a Special machine, known as the Cross-Gear, or X-Gear.

It is referred to this nidckname because it is best described as the cross between the rider and the vehicle; they are one and the same in the X-Gear. Initially planned for development by Do-Decca, it never evolved past a prototype design. Sam Barker found this data and decided to build the robot in order to test his mechanical skill. The X-Gear had since been modified in design.

The X-Gear is meant for Classic mode only, as one of the "Special" characters. Rapid-fire guns are mounted on the "arms," while two powerful cannons have been installed on the ends of added foldable appendages. located on the back. The X-Gear also has two laser sword mechanisms in its arms as well, allowing for close-range combat. It travels faster on all four wheels, but has greater attack ability on the two hind wheels. It is classified as a Combat character, bearing exceptional attack power, though its speed is above average as well. Defense is poor, as well as acceleration. Turning depends on the aforementioned mobility position (4 wheels or 2).

The design for the X-Gear was very difficult to get on paper. I had lots of ideas on how it would look, but it would take some time before it finally looked decent as a whole. Initially I wanted there to be the ability for the X-gear to shift the arms and legs into alternate positions so that hands and feet could be used, but I ended up scrapping this idea, integrating the "vehicle" more into the "rider."
