A photomanipulation assignment for my digital art class. I'm not particularly proud of it, in that I had intended on doing my own photography for all three panels, which I didn't have time for.
The assignment was to take images or objects and incorporate them into three panels making up a triptych, based on the theme Engaging the City. I don't feel good about randomly taking other people's photos, but I had to.
I chose to do mine about the relationships between human and animal as pertaining to the word "humanity." I wanted possible interpretations to include everything from, "humans are nothing but another species of animal, just as lowly as they are," to "hey, wolves aren't just vicious evil beasts, they're social and have friends and loyalties and enemies and fun times, just like us," and any variant of.
I was inspired by the metaphor of cities being organic, like forests, seeing sky scrapers as trees and shops and stalls as underbrush, and the people down below as the predators and prey and packs and herds.
I'm very interested in your take - does it make you sick? Does it make you happy? Does it make you wonder if I'm trying to say something good or bad? There are no wrong answers - my intent was to get people thinking/feeling, to throw an idea out there, but to let people form their own opinions on it.

Unfortunately, I lost all the individual URLs for the wolves, so I no longer know exactly where I got each wolf photo from. However, here's the list of URLs from which I compiled 70 original wolf photos to make up a possible image library.
