Watercolor, Gouache, and Pen Painting.
Part of a series on that massive cave civilization thing that I came up with a while ago. The other piece that I completed is the CaveSeries: Gateway. You can see a mock up gateway far in the distance, which by the way is by no means to scale -- rough approximate at the best.
Uh.. I like how the lighting came out, although I'm not too sure about its accuracy.
Since we're on the topic of lighting, heres a little bit about this cavern:
The main cavern pictured here, is illuminated by three massive holes in the cavern roof which acts as spotlights. The water helps diffuse the incoming light to the structures around the perimeter of the underground lake. To supplement the lighting, the residents use lanterns of varying sizes from palm-size to obscenely large.
Pictured here, is a small portion of the the Trade District, notably the smaller section of the Forums. This sector of the city houses the economic hub of the entire civilization which containing the Forums (or marketplace, which has yet to be named,) auction houses, etc, harbors and the city's many shipyards and warehouses.
More to come, enjoy ;]

This is excellent work of art. It has fantastic details and lovely sense of my old home (Except replace it with an overcrowded city and lots of snow). I have to fav this! :)
