Time Corp Races: Camnn-B'reii

Let's move on to the Camnn-B'reii, pronounced "Cam-inn-Buh-ree". From another Timeline originally, they have settled in quite nicely in ours.

In millenia past, the humanoid Camnn and the canine B'reii were one race. At some point in their past, however, the two races mutated, becoming two distinct, seperate intelligent races.

Although their history records occassional skirmishes, the two races got along amazingly well, with members of both races in all walks of life, showing remarkable tolerances for each other.

Close to three thousand years ago, however, a peculiar mutagenic plague swept across their homeworld of S'ili'noc, one which decimated nearly ten percent of both races' populations, and caused even more upheavals in the eventual side effects.

Children born to the survivors of the plague from either race seemed to mature a bit more rapidly than before, and when they matured, the full extent of the plague became evident: Camnn and B'reii plague children could interbreed.

It is unknown how long this occurred before it became common knowledge, but less than a hundred years after the plague it became common knowledge that these half-breeds, dubbed "Camnn-B'reii", existed.

Camnn-B'reii existed outside the boundaries of both races, being able to take on the form of either at will. Both races were horrified by them, and insisted that the other race take them in hand.

The fights snowballed rapidly, ending in a three-sided civil war. The Camnn and B'reii segregated completely, and both sides hunted down the Camnn-B'reii whenever possibly. The Camnn-B'reii, of course, went underground, fighting a guerilla war against the two races that despised them so badly.

Forty years ago, Time Corp scouts discovered S'ili'noc in its' war-torn state, and intervened. The Camnn and B'reii signed a formal truce under the condition that all Camnn-B'reii were to be relocated to another world. The Time Corp agreed, and took the halfbreeds to Terra Beta, where they have integrated fairly well.

Camnn-B'reii resemble humans covered in short fur with no obvious external ears, slightly enlongated faces, and fingers and toes tipped with short, extremely sharp claws. By concentrating and clenching certain muscle groups, they can assume the appearance of either parent race for short periods of time. In Camnn form, their hair flattens against their bodies and they stand taller and straighter, their faces flattening inwards. In B'reii form, their fur stands out, their faces push out more, and they can run on all fours at an extremely fast rate. Their claws are hard and dense, able to penetrate thin metals with ease, as are their fangs. The average Camnn-B'reii can press three-quarters of a ton, and can run in short bursts of speed of up to 95 m.p.h. for five-minutes. They also have incredibly acute senses, able to hear and smell four times as well as humans, and able to sense vibrations in objects by touch.

Camnn-B'reii give birth to litters of three, always consisting of one male, one female, and one hermaphroditic child. This pattern rarely varies, although nearly ten percent of all Camnn-B'reii litters are born hideously deformed and do not survive more than a few days. Although the females are pregnant for just over a year, the children mature rapidly, reaching their full growth in about four years. At this time they are considered adults, and usually leave home.

Camnn-B'reii almost never marry, and rarely form long-term relationships outside casual friendships.

Camnn-B'reii make excellent scouts and trackers, although they tend to be very skilled in most professions they choose.
