Well, I finished chapter 2 of 'Heritage' this weekend (no, it's not all online yet although there are another 2 pages added on Daemonslayers.com http://www.daemonslayers.com) so to 'celebrate' I went straight off and worked on a different comic I started back over the summer and haven't had time to work on these past few months.
Since I draw Blackjack so much, I decided to give Shade the spotlight for a change and the short story - such as it is - (pretty much him and his 'lodger' Raven vs the shadow priest on the left there) is a nice excuse for me to get my teeth into black and white whilst experimenting with kinda free form layouts. I *may* tone it or something when I'm done. Colour would be nice but unless someone's willing to volunteer I don't see that happening
Anyhow, this is what I've been working on today. The method's different to how I've drawn my other comics - I started with (very) loose sketches, scanned them and arranged them into a page in Manga Studio, then I inked 'em digitally. Some pages I printed then used brush ink depending how my wrist was holding up at the time, but for these two I did the whole lot digitally. Now if you'll excuse me I need an ice pack.
