~Chapter 0: How it all began~

CAPTAIN'S LOG: POA #000.

Greetings everyone, allow me to introduce myself.
I am Captain Phillip Anthony McDonald...Commanding Officer
of the MDF starship, "Pillar of Autumn”. How I ended up
being in possession of such a colossal starship is a long,
long story...but if ya must know, then try not to fall asleep!

It all started one night when a gang of hooded hooligans
tried to steal my dad’s van but found that me dad was sleepin’ in it,
as he awoke he immediately grabbed a baseball bat & chased the thug away
...only to be bombarded by bricks from the others from the hill
near the leisure centre.

After one brick nearly hit me, I got pissed, went upstairs
to get changed, grab me katana...& get outside to kill the
bastards before the coppers shown up. After vaulting over the fence
& chargin’ at them, I suddenly became trapped & everythin’ else
around me stopped...as if time stood still. Suddenly in a flash of light,
I was teleported away...after recovering, I find myself aboard
some sorta hi-tech fortress. “Where the hell am I?” I said, confused about
where I ended up. “Hiya Phil, long time no see!” said a voice I wasn’t
familiar with, but when I turned & saw a girl who looked very familiar
“Kay? Is that really you?!” I asked, then Kay replied “Yup, welcome home Phil!”.

Speakin’ of home, I panicked & asked Kay “Wait a minute,
is me family OK!?” fearing that the gang had killed them
& robbed me family’s home of everything we owned & escaped
in me dad’s van. “Relax, I replaced you with a clone!” said
Kay, who then shown me a recorded video file...apparently
my copy massacred them, but was also fatally wounded & died.
Then my katana disappeared from his hand & re-appeared next to me.

“Jesus Christ, I never knew I was THAT much of a killer”
said I, after witnessing what my doppelganger did to that gang,
“Don’t worry, I know that the REAL you would not kill without a reason...
your clone was only following its genetic programming, its objective
was eliminate the threat that was attacking your family!” said Kay, reassuringly.

After hearing those words, I went to pick up my katana & noticed
that I was wearing that SOS bracelet me mum put on me & noticed
that me clone didn’t have one...”This is gonna raise a lot of questions
back at-wait a minute, am I on the...ya know?”

Kay then nodded & said “Yup, welcome aboard the MDF space
fortress “Gateway”...we are the Multiversal Defense Force.
We’re the best, the finest, the last & ultimate line of
defense for all civilization throughout time, space & even...
parallel words & alternate universes!”

After hearin’ all that from Kay, I walked towards the window & saw
multiple ships docked onto the fortress. The vast & distant solar system,
the sun, the moon & even...Earth, our home. In all my life I’ve always wanted
to see Earth with my own eyes, now after seeing it all...the words that
escaped my mouth in surprise were “OH MY GOD, this is fuckin’ AWESOME!!”

“Impressive, ain’t it?” said Kay, then continued by saying
“If you think THAT’S cool, check out this window...this here’s
what YOU’LL be driving!”. I went to the opposite window that Kay
pointed to & saw the Pillar of Autumn...the very same battleship from Halo,
after that I said “Now THAT’S a thing of beauty, when do I depart?”.

“First of all, get changed & geared up, then meet back in here
when you’re done...I’ll brief you on your first assignment!” replied Kay,
I do as she asked & went to change into my signature uniform, went to acquire
the twin handguns known as “Cerberus” which were once wielded by Grave from Gungrave
...then returned to the command room where Kay briefed me on my first mission.

“OK Phil, you know what must be done right?” asked Kay,
then I replied “Yeah, intercept the Weyland-Yutani cargo
freighter, locate then seize & destroy the alien eggs by
any means nessecary...got it!!” was my response to Kay,
then dismissed me by saying “Good Phil, Naomi can you come here a sec?”
said Kay as she asked a female Persocom to come here.

“Yes miss?” said the brown haired & eyed Persocom who resembled
an old schoolmate of mine, “I’m assigning you to be Captain Phil
McDonald’s first mate aboard the Pillar...take good care of him, OK?”
asked Kay, then Naomi replied “Aye miss, consider it done...
Captain, follow me!” After being dismissed by Kay, Naomi guided me
to docking area where we boarded the Pillar of Autumn.

I then met up with my first crew & made my introduction,
followed up by a long but brief speech in order to boost
their morale...also, like Naomi who was standin’ beside me,
they too were Persocoms. After that I dismissed them & they
replied “Aye-aye, sir!”, after that we boarded the Pillar
& Naomi gave me a quick tour inside before we departed.

After arriving at the Bridge, I sat down at my chair
& received a transmission from Kay “Hi Phil, the ship’s
fuelled up & all systems are in the green...you may depart
when ready!” said Kay, giving me the go-ahead.
“Aye Kay, prepare for departure. Release docking clamps!”
was my command to one of Kay’s navigators “Clamps released,
you may depart!” she replied.

“Alright, we’re headin’ off now Kay...see ya soon!” said I
as I gave the go-ahead to depart, Kay replied “Roger, good luck
& good hunting Phil!”...after leaving the fortress, I said to my
ship’s computer “Alright, computer?” then suddenly, an aqua green
holographic screen appeared which then displayed its name as ADA.
“Good morning! Ready for launch, Captain McDonald!” said ADA,
the AI system that was once used for Jehuty, from Zone of the Enders series.

I then responded “Hi ADA, set coordinates for the Fox universal sub-verse...
AVP universe. We’ve gotta intercept the Weyland-Yutani freighter
& destroy it’s foreign cargo!” after receiving my order,
ADA replies “Affirmative, course has been set...opening dimensional rift!”

A dimensional rift that was big enough for our ship
to enter opened up. “Alright people...engage!!” yeah yeah
I know, so I suck at comin’ up with me own lines...
big deal! After entering the rift, our ship disappeared...
& the rift sealed itself shut.


And now...our voyage begins!
