The gun, gloves and ammo belt just arrived, long-awaited additions to my costume.

The MG-34 is a World War II German machine gun replica made by Cushman, the lightest in weight of any of the MG-34 replica versions you'll find. Which is great, because the armor set is heavier than most armor sets I've worn.

The gloves are a set of paintball gloves I wandered across on ebay, they're not technically accurate for the costume, but they're the closest I could find on such short notice (before Anime South when I hope to debut the costume, finished or not.)

The ammo belt was a cheap plastic party-store-ish sort of thing, 50" long I think. I already got the one end stuck inside the prop gun, but that's okay, because now I'm not worried about it falling out.. or coming out at all. ;D

If you don't know me, or haven't seen my other pictures, the armor molds are by Nightmare Armor Studios, modelled loosely off of several different versions of the live-action Kerberos Saga armor, so far as I can tell.

The Kerberos Saga is a Japanese series set in alternate-reality, where Germany defeated Japan at the end of WWII instead of the US defeating Japan. Most of the series was live-action.

The popular anime movie 'Jin Roh; Wolf Brigade' is a part of the Kerberos Saga.

I'm not sure how it all looked in the series... but it seems like the armor plating should be switched for the arms for practical reasons...

the left hand would be able to put the spikes to better use seeing as how its the free hand and all... and reloading is done mostly with the left, which would be made clunkier by the bangle plate.

but meh, it's a costume so whether or not it's fun is what's the most important. not sure if I'd hire the designers for my army though =|
