I tried out something new today, in the form of acrylic inks. These are very fluid and potent acrylics paint, which is often used for airbrush (in fact, that's what they are sold as). They handle rather like watercolors, but can be layered and are as robust as acrylics. I bought yellow, magenta and cyan in order to try them out, and produced this painting. Mixing is a bit of a bastard when the three components don't have the same strength of color. I did manage to mix a good black as well as very nice ochres, greens and browns. Bright orange seems impossible, as does lurid pink and turquois. I don't use the last two, but I suspect I should at least get a non-transparent white, bright orange and black to round out my options.

The image here was taking rather directly from a picture. Lines drawn with black, then colored in with washes.
