Just some simple photo-manipulation. Nothing crazy, only practicing touching up the pic. That's my ladyfriend, Stoney, on my couch, "the red couch". I snapped this photo of her looking cute way back in February.

As for the manipulation, I started by adding a gradient mask and a gaussian blur, blurring away from her to keep her as the focus of the picture, and to increase the sense of depth. Next, I increased the saturation of the whole picture to make it look warmer, without getting crazy and distorting all the colours. Then I duplicated that layer, set the duplication on top with 50% opacity, and created a mask for that one. With that mask, I took the paintbrush tool and carefully added blur over her skin to remove the pixely look from my crappy camera. After that, I removed the red-eye to do her gorgeous eye justice. Finally, I ended it by flattening the image, cropping her a bit to the left, and creating the border.

You can easily see the differences when compared to the original.

Oh, as for the title "Toothpaste Robe", we both agreed her bathrobe was coloured like mint toothpaste.
