...@@ I didn't think I'd be able to finish this. I woulda thought I needed the extention. XX Ahhh. So, chances are this is going up as the featured. I'm hoping it will. Or something. >.>

Anyways! My entry for the Pokedex contest found at pokecon, Gijinkas at battle, play, or just relaxing. Something like that. >.> Far too lazy to copy/paste it. Ha, but yeah. I decided to use this as my entry, instead of the nice idea I had for a Shiny Muk and a Gengar at an alley mouth. Ah well.

So, for those who don't know, this is the gijinka (human) form of Jirachi. More affectionately, Jichi. You know, I love that teal that you see in all the official art and the like, but I love the blue they used for the GBA sprites so much better. This, of course, was ample oppurtunity to sort of divuldge away from the normal. (I looked through DA and SA a bit, and I couldn't find a single picture of a blue-tagged Jirachi.) Well, that and I got to do CRAZY HAIR. Everyone else I've seen in the Pokedex club does it as a hat. >.> Hats are nice, but I like hair better, kthx. That aside, I really wanted to go further and so I made her a lovely star-inspired dress, with the third eye becoming a decoration on her belt. Yeah. Summat like that. I don't know. Jirachi's one of the few in 3rd gen I liked, besides Torchic, Blaziken, Swablu, and Absol. I really don't even like any of the 4th gen yet, but maybe that's because I'm the last person alive to get my hands on a DS and Diamond. Nn...

The process for this pic...it was long and frustrating. I started with the original pen lineart, which my scanner ate alive, and then I did some simple hue/saturation colorize with some base colors of what I knew I'd be using for the picture. Once that was set, I went and colored it with really bright colors. I saved that individually, so I'll be able to use that for the Gijinka dex too. After that, it was a matter of duplicating each layer and colorizing it so that it looked like the background sky, then setting the opacity down at 30-40% to make it show through. Then I erased some of that overlay to make some bright spots shine through. Lessee, uh...then I quickly did a background and the nikati tree. The nikati tree, BTW, is of my own creation, so don't panic because you don't know what that is. Ah ha ha. But if you've played the N64 Paper Mario and got to the end of the game, you know what I used to inspire the background. The music inspired as well. >.> Yes, I have A City In The Stars from the PMOST. Thank you Galabilda Hotel (and I prolly spelled that wrong). Yeah. >.> Something or other.

Lessee...so this is...completely unlike my normal style in which I did a sort of SD/chibi. Look at those chimpmunk cheeks! I could just pinch them! 8D Ahem. I used my memory of Clamp's sleeper Wish to get a similar design for the face and the like. The body looks a little bit long, esp. for Jichi, but eh, what are you gonna do? I like having big eyes to color though. It was fun. Much more effective than black/gray eyes that Jichi normally has, mmhmm. :3 I like how that totally tableted tree came out, but I feel as though the water is a little...eh. As is the ground with stars all over it. Oy. Hopefully others and the voters will like it though. Wish me luck!
