Echoes Entry - Kay
Host - "Kay" Kelsey
The journalist for the school newspaper, Kay is a reserved and enigmatic young man. Tall, dark, and handsome, he rarely speaks unless its to drill you for a potential story. He's calm, collected, and very smart, a logical and quick thinker even in the midst of battle. He is never seen without a thick tome in hand, its pages blank and free for him to write upon.
Physical description: Kay is 6'0", 155 lbs. He has the dark almond skin of an African-American, and is very slender and lanky, with long arms and legs and sharp, thin lines to his facial features. His narrow eyes are dark brown, and he wears a pair of rectangular glasses that always seem to reflect the light in a room, giving off an eerie white glare and hiding his eyes from view. His black hair is worn in long dreadlocks that hang past his shoulders, pulled back in a tight ponytail save for two locks that always jut from his widow's peak to hang in front of his face. His personal clothing style is a mixture of professional and punk, as he wears graphic tank tops often decorated with artistic graphics featuring some form of mythical creature (dragons are his favorite) over button-down shirts, the collar (neatly buttoned) and sleeves protruding from the tank top, and loose jeans. Black is always a factor somewhere in his daily wardrobe, and has no shortage of chains, belts, buckles, wristbands, studs, bracelets and general accessories to wear along with everything.
Guardian - Demetrios
Every bit as stiff and strict as his host, and even moreso (if that's possible), Demetrios is a jerk. Taking the form of an ancient Grecian scribe if he does see fit to manifest himself, he acts very much as an advisor to Kay, conversing with the lad in his head to make suggestions and inform Kay of something he had missed seeing or hearing that might grant him another story. He helps Kay think and look at things from every angle, making the boy even more shrewd than he already was. They make a ruthless team, which is part of the reason that Kay is well-known in the newspaper. Once he latches onto something, he gets a story out of it, something Demetrios helps him with. The Guardian is rather snooty and opinionated, though thankfully all of his opinions do not necessarily agree with Kay's, or no one would like the boy at all.
Physical description: Demetrios is as tall as Kay, though with much more muscle and weight to him. His long blonde hair is pulled into a ponytail like Kay's, and a laurel wreath on his head. He is clad in a long toga draped over one shoulder, baring his torso and arms which are heavily tattooed with ancient symbols and lettering. He bears a thick tablet in the crook of one arm.
Familiars:
Barren Tome - The tome that Kay always carries around. A nifty artifact, it bears an infinite number of pages that seem to be alive, flowing out of the book when needed to follow any command Kay writes down in the book. He utilizes them quite well in battle, overwhelming opponents from all sides with a tactical onslaught and slicing them to ribbons or defending himself behind a paper shield, which is much more impressive than it sounds as the paper is able to harden itself into a nigh indestrutible form. Water does weaken them, however.
Strategic Stylus - A plain black pencil, it is Kay's primary method of writing in his tome. It allows him to animate the pages in the book and utilize the paper in basic ways, forming shields or sending pages to cut something with razor-edges. He can maneuver the paper in any way he wishes, writing commands in the tome and even able to draw out simple strategies, if he thinks of a logical manuever, almost like football plays.
Scripted Blade - A pencil in the shape of a small sword, with its tip as the lead. This pencil allows Kay to manipulate his paper further and transform it into weapons. The pages fold around themselves like origami and come together to form a sword, an axe, or whatever Kay instructs them to become. In these forms their cutting offensive power is increased, but they are less able to react defensively to shield him if needed.
Forger of Fantasy - An ornate pencil made to resemble a serpent's scaly body, with a dragon's head where the eraser would be. With this pencil Kay can use his paper and turn it into any creature that he so desires. He can form paper dragons, paper tigers, or a paper unicorn if he wanted. In this form, the paper animal is able to think on its own without orders from Kay, aided by Demetrios, though it will never disobey him.
Fortitude - A thick pencil with a shield crest on top, it allows Kay to cover himself with his pages to form a hardened armor. With it he is more able to physically battle an opponent without risking harm to himself. The armor can move independent of his actual limbs, allowing him to withdraw his arms and write in his tome if needed, and will disperse if wet.
Fires of Creativity - More unique than his other familiars, Fires takes the shape of a blazing red/orange phoenix quill feather, heat wavering from it. With it Kay can set his papers alight with blazing fires that will never go out unless he commands it or unless the pages get wet.
Other Powers:
Smackdown - If physically manifested, Demetrios will not hesitate to bludgeon you with his tablet. He's very strong.
Freehand - If physically manifested, Demetrios can control Kay's pages himself, leaving Kay free to do other things, if necessary, without having to write in his tome.
Life-Size - If physically manifested Demetrios can write (chisel) into his tablet, but instead of using paper he can create actual items out of nothing, making weapons and summoning creatures out of thin air.
