I found out about this cryptid a short while ago. The mapinguary is said to live in the jungles of Brazil. This monster is described as looking like an enormous sloth, at least seven feet tall, and smells terrible. By some accounts, it has one eye like a cyclops, and a second mouth in its belly, with which it devours its victims. The natives of the Brazilian rainforests swear that the mapinguary exists. Skeptics claim that sightings of the monster had developed out of ancient sightings of the Megatherium, or giant sloth. Personally, I like that new mythical creatures tend to surface every so often!
