Pyroto is the first of the Sarcorch chain. It is derived from PYRO and PROTO, so it means something like first fire. It fits, as this is the first stage of a fire-type evolution.
The colors are from wherever I swiped the colors for Incerate and Sarcorch. I dun remember. The head is from Squirtle, the body is from Shellos, the horn on the male's head is from Torterra's shell, the tail is from Mewtwo, the flames on the back are from Cyndaquil, and the legs are from Larvitar. I have no idea what Pokemon I swiped the ears from, and I think the spike on the tail is from Nidoran Male, but I don't remember.
