This is the bottom quarter of a work in progress but this area is finished (more or less...) so I'm placing it in my main gallery for the time being. When I finish the rest and post it, I'll get rid of this.
At any rate, I realize the narwhals are not entirely anatomically correct--the tusks should not be coming from their foreheads. I'm not really entirely sure why I drew them that way originally. I think I couldn't really find a good reference of the head area to know exactly where to place them so I ended up putting them too high. But I kind of like them there since it makes them look more 'unicorn' like. But whatever. :)
EDIT: Pfft. I just noticed a tusk I forgot to shade. *bangs head on something sharp*

Omigosh. Narwhals. Lots of narwhals.
You are officially the coolest kid in the neighborhood.
I really love the sense of texture, here. You can almost feel their rubbery lil' melon heads. X3

Oh my god, Lisa... the entire theme is just amazing. I mean, needless to say what I think of the ship, the surface of the water which is a really rticky part looks amazingly real, and the whales... I love how you can do different textures while still making everything look so watercolory-gentle. It's flipping amazing.
