And a slightly less old piece, completed July 2006!
Moonlit Hunter is one of my favorite pieces. I started him right after my parents bought a young Bearded Dragon. Looking at the texture of the lizard's scales inspired me to try a detailed scaly dragon. The scales may have taken forever, but I'm glad I did them. There are parts of this that I wish I had taken more time and done a better job, but overall I'm happy with the result.
And I like coloring eyes. Mmmm.

cool cool. there one thing I think would really make this picture come to life even more. A rim light around some of the more shadowed areas. something bright like a pale blue or even white. but don't make it glow. Just put it on some of the curves. it will really help bring out the whole animal. look up some pics of people in moonlight you'll see what I mean. But regardless this looks good, keep practicing and there will be nothing but good things for you.

The head especially which I love along with the wings.
I love the faint blue strips on the scales too, that's a really nice touch.
The scales must've taken a really long time.

Wow this is so realistic ^^ I love the scales and that head of his. he would remind me of this ebil dragon chasing in my dream once i he had a bigger army jaw. Part from i was chased in a cavesh D:
