Planet of the dying Sun

Another shot from 'Tramp' the planet of the Ilts.

In the early morning hours (as here) was the only possibility for the Ilts to gain the vitally necessary water; there they've been able to gather it as snow and ice, before their sun evaporated it again. And it was constantly become less and less...
So the situation for the Ilts became worse and worse until the Terrans officially decided to give Mars to them as their Homeplanet - which was a clever deal, cause the Ilts had have become official allies of the Terrans and Mars wasn't of great use for mankind anyway - except for the soil reasures, and the Ilts haven't been interested in those...
One of them wellknown as 'Lt. Guck' - from his friends called 'Gucky' has become a leading member of the Terran Mutant-Corps and as such he weared a Cell-Activator which give him the relative immortality; so the circle was closed, cause the Terrans has first landed on Tramp while searching for the pour of immortality. On that ocassion Gucky has hided himself on the Terran Spaceship 'Crest' a Spheroid of 800 meter diameter; so he was that Ilt getting in close contact with the Terrans first. At that time he hadn't just dreamed of immortality or the fantastic career he made in the Mutant-Corpse with his telepathic, telecinetic and teleportation skills...

Technical: rendered in 3880x2400, scaled down resharpen and other postwork in Photoshop CS2 (a fair amount here - as all the snow, ice and most of the haze was added afterwards)
rendertime was 4hrs and 50 sec :lol:; postwork I didn't note down, but it was long - done on several days bit for bit (I had plenty of time while waiting for the come-back of connectivity :roll:) DL-size is 1920x1200
