Here's three paint scheme ideas that I came up with for my Tau army I'm starting from Warhammer: 40,000. I had a hard time coming up with ideas, so I came up with several, and made these three from different sept worlds, with their own style and culture, I guess.

The Kel'Shan Sept already has an established scheme, so I made my own "cadre" of Spartan-style soldiers, due to their distrusting nature, and from the fact that their sept world is next to the Perdus Rift, a spacial anomaly that has links to Chaos.

The Ksi'M'Yen Sept does not have an established paint scheme, so I picked an urban/stealth scheme as their definitive characteristic is that they took their sept world from the Imperium largely using stealth tactics.

The D'yanoi sept also has an established scheme, so I came up with a Night-Ops cadre, with the defining characteristic being luminescent armor. Not functional, but looks pretty on a figure with all dark colors.

That's been about the extent of my progress so far, and I'd like to see what everyone who sees this likes best.
