And, actually, to be honest, the Silver sprite does look good, save that you missed the mark on some of his quills and that his back quills are nearly non-existant. Actually, the proportions of a lot of Silver are a little... off. Even for a sprite. But it's still a good sprite.
But, and this is only if I can be totally honest with you, in a professional point of view, this is very flawed. First of all, the quills don't move (and they should at the very least bob up and down with each step.). The transitions should be a little better: Silver kind of jumps around too much, and the arms just suddenly change positions. And the legs are... well, a little ill-placed. They should not go that far forward and still have him land flat footed. Silver also shouldn't hop that far forward, since the animation should stay very still, save for going up and down due to stepping. And even for that, he should be going up about 3 pixels when one of his feet is pushing him up beneath him during the step.
Everything else I could point out just has to do with the design, and are really very subjective, so they hardly matter. Unless you'd like to know what else I could say.
Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to add in a blink now and again. ^-^ Make him "alive."
