Sprited stupity
I've noticed tons of shitty sprite comics lately. I don't mean like regular bad sprite comics, I mean TERRIBLE. (meaning that if you're one of my watchers and you're reading this, you're probably exempt from such claims. (you're free to go.))
Seriously, it's not hard to make a sprite comic. The art is taken care of for you.(unless you're a spriter and actually care about making a real work of art.) And yet people manage to screw up even this simplest of all tasks.
All that you have to worry about is the storyboard and the right sprite at the right time.
If you know that your sprite comics are terrible or just sub par, then try taking some lessons in storyboarding and making sprite comics.
Always be certain to fully explain everything. Always give an introduction and suitable explanation to what's happening. Don' just start up random fights that lead into random events with no explanation as to how it came about. Also be certain to stay away from cliches. We've all seen your "custom" author character
before. Think up something new.
Remember, I'm always watching. If you wish to improve follow me. If not, then live in ignorance. I hope that one day you'll see the error of your ways.

Its good to see someone critisize sprite comics without remarking "Sprite comics suck! Go die!" or something.
White Wing Demon Says:
Wow, I've feel the same exact way. One thing you didn't hit on, is the fact that people have 200 pages of sprite comics (i.e. #122 Kirby's death 34) basically about nothing. Where it doesn't matter where you pick it up, it still makes little sense.

Random fights?

I agree. I'm a smackjeeves regular and it just tearsme apart. Most of the writign is never spell checked, they can't make backrounds for their life or their storyline is in the crapper.
Good thing I don't do sprites.
A well done sprte comic is Castelvnia RPG.

Am I the only one who thinks more sprite artist shoudl be more like him?

What did You expect? I mean to make a story board, that needs like thinking and planing and boring stuff... it is thus so much "beta" to just slam some random most likly riped sprites on a blank/poorly drawn/riped off BG and add some poorly ploted/drawn/executed conversations.
Face Star Says:
I see what you mean there, most sprite comics fail without a reasonable story. They could go on forever because of needless filler or long fight sequences, or stop abruptly after 5-6 pages due to lack of material, or something. I hate it when there's like a beam attack that has like 5 different sprites of it, and the author used five full panels to show each frame of it. That seriously only works for animations.

cant they just draw it they just have to draw good enough so they are not stick figures
