This was a really fun piece to do, inspired in part by Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes." The simplicity of the background (delightfully easy) helps to contribute to the starkness, I think, of the tortured figure of the horse.
I'm not sure how it will come across digitally, but I've been told this painting gets creepier the longer you look at it. I find that to be high praise indeed.

Heheh, you are right. It gets worst the longer you look at it. I think it is because you realize the sad situation

This painting used to give me nightmares if I looked at it too long before going to bed. *shudders* So of course, now that I don't have to see it anymore, I've put it on my favorites... *thunks self in head*
