Jess is learning Flash! O___O Yes... and it's the first time I've ever used the program outside of "EndUser". X____x;
It's fun, but man. X___X;
We've only done done this and a frame-by-frame animation (Lab 1) so far, but our final is an interactive educational Flash Presentation. @___@; Fun. And we're entering Week 8... 9? of 11... x___X; So, yeah.
Anyway, this project/MidTerm was to take the specs from MSN.Com after choosing a product and figuring out categories... then design two ads for that product that would be accepted by MSN's Specs. (No we didn't actually submit, it was so that we could learn how to follow specs and filesize limitations. ^.^; )
Well when I finally fix up my little animation that was Lab 1 and when we learn how to add sound, maybe I'll add that later. *^.^*
Here's my Design Statement I had to turn in with this project... >_>;

Design Statement:
I chose Glico Pocky as my product. The ads for MSN.Com will be targeted to Teens and Young Adults, which is the 18-24 Demographic. The best place to put these ads will be in Hotmail and Entertainment, based on this target audience and what MSN.Com has shown me in an audience search. Within these specifications, I felt that a banner ad and a rectangle ad will be best suited for Glico Pocky.
I will be using the Anime Convention, Otakon, as a base theme for the product in the banner ad. The reason for using Otakon with Pocky is that the product itself is found all over in the Dealer’s Room and in the Concession Stands located in Artists Alley. Thanks to this, Otakon and Pocky seem to have been connected by reputation. Using a Catgirl; or a girl dressed as a cat; I will remind viewers to stock up on Pocky before/during Otakon as it is approaching in July (2007).
For the Rectangle Ad, it will simply be one of a list of "Pocky Fun" based on the product's own tagline; "Stick to Fun". Using the concept of the game "Pickup Sticks" I will make an animated rectangle ad for "Pocky Sticks". The reason I will not carry over the theme of Otakon is because many people browsing the Entertainment category may well have no idea what it is and how it connects to Pocky, but when you sign up for Hotmail, your ads are then targeted by what you selected upon account sign up.
