The bottom bit probably won't make much sense. I based it on a dog one of my friends used to dogsit. Adorable thing, really, but dumber than a rock. And I mean dayum that dog was dumb.
He would freak out at the sight of his own shadow, and run around the room, barking like an idiot. In the middle of said spazz-attack, he would abruptly stop, stand completely still, and literally watch his own drool fall. Once it hit the floor, another spazz attack.
For some reason, I thought of Aang. :/
