The Repulsive Narcissus

"Who is here?"
"Here."
"Come."
"Come..."
"Why do you shun me?"
"Why do you shun me...?"
"Hands off! I would rather die than you should have me."
"Have me..."

Raven silk, falling
In waves around
God-carven face
Seen by child of
Earth, of nature.
"Have me..."
Stunning boy,
Irresistible,
With a heart as pure
As dirt.
"Why do you shun me...?"
Fragile heart turns to stone,
Whispering all final words heard.
As supernaturally beautiful
Boy catches his sight
In the crystalline water...
And those delectable eyes
See a gorgeous nymph.
He stays with her, for years,
Desperate for everything
He never graced another with.
"Have me..."
Hands grew gnarled and
Hair grew green,
'Til his limbs became bows that stroked
The lake's fragile surface.
Lovingly, fondly, narcissistically...
