Another polished concept for yet another character for my comic.

A brief description: Evangeline Monique Venasse, as most commonly referred to in the storyline as Eva or as 731 calls her "Rin". Born after the inquisition of Earth, she was raised in a remote village south of modern Sicily. Growing up, Eva had always been quite timid, but is very keen on observations of her surroundings. She was 13 when Dark Faction militias raided and burnt her home town. Having survived the crimson slaughter, she sought refuge within a small underground resistance group, hoping to one day free the world from the Faction Empire.

I've been practicing more on my colour theory, so this will look more colourful than the last two concepts, I've been studying more from master painters and trying to practice painting skin tones as they did. This time, I was not too keen on the pose so I just went ahead and did a simple figure of the character. The suit that Eva wears has the derived technology from that of 731's, but in the most basic form, and has a lot less functions.

5 hours in Photoshop CS, reference used only on skin tones.

Nice story and concept art. You have a very interesting way of coloring.

crybaby Says:

i liek the fact she has curves as shes not super skinny ^^ love her hair :)

Oriphur Says:

I love your concepts. They remind me of the old Dune movie ( the novels too)

Lovely skin coloring there-- nice depth to the face, and gives hints to what her personality may be like. The reflection onto her chest is a nice touch of realism as well. The hair is my favorite part since it's so simplistically feminine, but still retains a sense of some sort of militaristic necessity.

There's something off about the torso, though (to me at least). I might just be imagining this due to my own inherent biases in art. I'm not really good enough to evaluate stuff like this, especially when it's so different from my usual genre. Since I'm probably wrong on my evaluation and you said you weren't keen on the pose anyway as your main focus was the skin, I'll keep my mouth shut.

Awesome textures.

Koiyu Says:

As always, Koiyu is always loyal to you! I think the way she tilts her head was a nice touch. It makes her seem very well... "you wanna go?" The fact that she's got curves and arent the usual "super anorexic stereo-type girl" is very real. Hair and the outfit is awesome man!
