We Are Not Invincible

We as people, live on the edge
And it's by nature we do this
We come into this life
Feeling so alive
And never face the fact
There will be a time to die
We are not invincible
Though we fool ourselves
Death does not skip around
Forgetting us along his way
When it's truly time to go
We will die
But since we can not tell
When our last breath will be breathed
What face we will last see
What hand we will last hold
Take care that you grasp
To life's every thread
Fight with all might
Give nothing to Death
Give it all in your fight
Your will
Your mind power
To live on
And if life is surely over
Remember every face
Every hand you held
Every breath your breathed
Every kind word spoken
Every prayer
But as long as you lay
In the hospital bed
There will still be a chance
You will open your eyes and rise
...Once again
To face this mortal life

For Cameron who is the son of my dad's good friend when he was growing up. Cameron who is 14 is currently in a hospital still fighting for life after he was riding his quad/4 wheeler and it flipped in the mud and landed on him. He's been in the hospital around 3 or 4 weeks in and out of induced comas so his brain can try to heal itself.

EDIT: Cameron survived the ordeal. It was truly a miracle. His fight was not over. As of today (April 29th 07) he has been able to go to a mall with some new friends who were also in bad accidents like him. He was in a wheelchair because his left side of his body was damaged and doesn't work properly, but nevertheless he is going to live!
