The Mechanism

Inconsistent
Forever swapping opinions.
Mine is no good.
Mechanical existence, shifting.
The machine's components dancing betwixt themselves, constantly switching partners.
Thinking in clicks and beeps.
Sugar coated corruption.
Sharing body and mind, all the secrets of a single soul.
Becoming one collective consciousness.
Trapped inside that of which is your own doing.
One body, lying to itself.
Constantly collapsing.
Incompatible pieces.
Companies buying companies, swapping secretaries.
All important people with their collective neckties.
A simple noose for a selfish act.
A coward's possible escape.
Each one, switching parts until we meet again, in the corridor of some unkempt library.
Unfortunate examples, malpractice.
They all break in the end, despite wishful thinking.
The gears always change our disposition.
Work, lust, ambition.
No matter how well we mean, we always get lost in the mechanical jungle.

There's some very clever imagery.

Industrialism is a fascinating thing to compare to the human soul.
I really love machines, and the poetry here is very insightful.
I think this merits a favourite.
