Obsession

Green speck on the window.
No one can see, but it has seen me.
I try to grasp it, but it becomes too clouded in my mind.
Assuming to quickly, I whisper all my thoughts in such a sublime way.
The Green speck grows.
It glows by its own light.
It made itself.
The sand that covers all the problems brings a warm comfort, like the rare mother that truly cares about her child.
But the sand cannot cover the obsession.
The whole world may be covered in sand or drowned to the tallest point, but the green light calls out in subliminal tones from the deep.
Obsession,
the focal point of existence.
Emotion,
our anchor.
Fear,
the glue that stops all change.
The Schism so great inside a single mind.
The green light inside, swelling like cancer.
An exploding skull,
from thoughts too big.
Thoughts, like strawberry mush, flooding the streets.
Grabbing desperately at the green,
but it needs no red.
Love,
the great opiate,
when its not watered down.

Smiling Devil Says:

When I read this... I just think:"this is the essence off obsession..." I like it, I like it very much^^ It's definatly worth a fav

Nanook Says:

Only one minor thing: "it's" is lacking an apostrophe in the last line.
Other than that, this is truly brilliant for a piece of free verse, and very rare to spot on the internet. Nicely done, nicely done.

Virangelus Says:

"Fear,
the glue that stops all change."

That is such a grand quote that it is poetry unto itself! Truly it is.

But with that Green Speck. No one else can see it, but you: that could be a metaphor for the subtle beauty that you may see in a person, that you can love, that everybody else could only look down on.

Gorgeous peice! WOrth a fave indeed!

Enigmatic M Says:

I like it a lot. I also like it how you have 'ass' as a tag. It's okay, I have an obsession with asses too. Mmmm.

Koiyu Says:

Amazing. It was really thought provoking! hehe.

I really don't know how to explain my adoration for it. I'm happy you got into the showcase for this week.
