This is a painting that I created for my manga (currently on hiatus >o<; ) The Beautiful Voyage.
The idea was based on a trick performed by Houdini: he would be suspended, whilst chained, in a tank of water. Before he went in, however, his assistant would pass him a key through a kiss. Pretty crafty, eh?
The woman behind is a rather spiteful angel that haunts the hero's footsteps.
