This was originally a homework sketch for my comic book illustration class. I think the topic was "@#^%$!" or some gibberish like that D: It made me think of censored anger in comics, which made me think of that one scene where light displays anger for the first time. I think in the manga he yells something stupid like "ARRGH! HE GOT ME!" D:
I probably could have made Ryuk a little better, but I think I did a good job on capturing Lights expression during that scene. I ad-libbed the background though, since I couldn't find a good reference of it in the manga.

The lighting is awesome. Though it does appear that Ryuk has a different light source than Light. O.o Is that just me...? Anyway, I love that it has both comic-like hatch-shading as well as celshading. And, of course, the facial expression is PRICELESS.
