Caria - Future Soldier

've been wanting to do some Gears of War fanart ever since I got the game, but I'm nervous about drawing the guys because I know I'll screw up.

So I decided to take one of my characters and put them into COG armour. And I chose Caria because she's a vampire, so I wouldn't have to bother transplanting a character or creating a new one - plus, she's really quite suitable once you get to know her. She'd have a bitch of a time with the UV turret gun though...

Only even that didn't work out as planned, because I didn't sit down and use a reference, and then I decided to simply draw whatever the hell I felt like instead. I don't draw anything even vaguely sci-fi that often, so it was quite a change for me.

It's nice to kind of go nuts on the details, even when there aren't that many details to go nuts on because I suck at that kinda thing. And I tried to use a slightly more realistic face style, which I quite like aside from its lopsidedness. May have to work on that more... Oh, and no knees because I got sidetracked by FullMetal Alchemist, and anyway, knees and I don't really get along. Sadly, also, most of the shading got nuked by my scanner. Will work on a better version should I ever manage to get past said knees...
