As I had written earlier--before the connection went dead--I had browsed through
lateral thinker's gallery, seeking inspiration, when this beastie popped into my mind and refused to leave. Suffice to say, it's now free.
I think I've gotten my old coloring method back, or at least some of it, and I'll continue experimentation with the GIMP.
