After reading the book and then watching the movie, I was quite at awe at how there were so many differences. I drew Saphira the way I imagined her when reading the book. I Thought long scales were apropriate because Eragon not only gashed his legs while riding bareback on Saphira, but also because arrows bounced off her scales, they shone like gems, and the book cover. There was no mention of Saphira having horns, and she was huge (although you can't really tell because there is no comparison), by the end of the book her petruding fangs were as large as Eragon's fist.
I might also do the other 3 living dragons.

Wow... That's amazing!
I personally thought the movie was a flop and did not live up to the book. They left too many parts out and the character descriptions were whacked.

awsome
this is great! not *quite how i pictured Saphira, but everybody's a little different, and it's WORLDS better than the movie's interpretation

i especially love her eyes

i saw her this way too. I didn't like her in the movie. She reminded me of a lizard with feathers...not a dragon with the leathery bat wings.
