Rise of the Spiritualist: Entry One
Rise of the Spiritualist: The Personal Accounts from the Events of Shiro-Ryu High School from the Memories of Leonardo Yarafen Krilangi
First Entry.
Name: Leonardo Yarafen Krilangi, age 18
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Silver
Special Ability...
...Maybe I should just get to the story.
As my part in this unbelievable struggle for supremacy began, I stepped off a train near a reputable and infamous high school: Shiro-Ryu High. I brushed back my hair and looked around. Circling around me were several dozen revenants, anointed in unholy flame.
"You must be the welcome wagon."
I called upon my powers and summoned light into my hands, then leaped high above their heads as I called upon my elemental powers.
"Back to the spirit realm with you!! HIMA!!"
As I fell, my chakra went into immediate effect. Light swarmed around me and rocketed through the ranks of the undead, ripping through their softened muscles and brittle bones, already enfeebled by natural decay. I brushed my hair out of my face again and stepped out of the ring of fallen flesh as the ghouls melted back into the earth where they belonged.
...There, now...You understand my abilities quite well now that I've demonstrated them, don't you? If you're especially slow, then allow me to elaborate.
My ability is the power to manipulate the elements through magic spells known as chakra. By channeling the energy of my body, mind and spirit into my surroundings, I can change them as I see fit. Hima, the chakra that gives me control over light, was the one I just used to obliterate the zombies I told you about. After all, since they were reanimated with dark magic, the power of light easily tore them up.
Now that you ALL understand, shall we continue?
As I approached the high school, I could see that others with elemental powers had arrived on the scene as well, and were already beginning to gather around a kid a few years younger than me. The stench of decay rose up from the corpses of black dragons, their bodies battered by magics and weapons alike. I leaned against a wall nearby and listened keenly as the hot-headed elementalists argued amongst themselves like children, ceasing their bickering only when one of the more mature members of our "group" decided to intervene and grant his friend some time to speak. According to him, we were facing something huge, and it required us to work together.
"Interesting," I muttered as I let the fact sink in that I had to work with these people.
True, I had been hoping that I could get into Shiro-Ryu High, having been turned away from several schools already for fear of my..."electric" reputation. Still, I had my reasons for being interested in the school at all. Only a month ago, I had received word from a wise man named Raiden that the balance of the elements was being thrown into a tumultuous upset. I was informed by Raiden that, if the elemental equilibrium were to be upset, we would experience disaster beyond our wildest imaginations. When I inquired as to what needed to be done, he informed me that a team of champions was being assembled at a high school somewhere, and he beckoned me to join him there. He left me without answering my next question: why he had to call upon my powers when so many capable elementalists were already at his beck and call. My curiosity got the best of me, and I forced myself to come here.
This is going to be the end of me, this battle...I can already smell Death nearby, his scythe raised for the kill. Let's hope that he'll at least wait until I do my job here to take me down to Hell.
