Skyfox: First Mission - Ch. 5
Skyfox: Sky Wolf - Ch. 5: Mark O'Donnell
A few hours later, the unfortunate Mirage's pilot skulked in a dark interrogation room. He was a wolf, dark gray fur, with lighter gray on his face and the front of his torso. He had a mop of black hair on his head, and, at this moment, was wearing a somewhat bulky green flight suit, made even more awkward by the fact that it was a little too big for him. He stared forward with an angry expression. Ty McCloud knew better.
"You're scared of something, aren't you?"
The enemy pilot shot him a sideways glance. "No!" he said, defensively, though, in truth, he was. Ty kept a heavy gaze upon the pilot. "Why didn't you just do as you were told? You'd have been completely in the clear. Now, you're facing prosecution. Possession of an illegal weapon. Grand Theft Aircraft. Why'd you risk that to get into a dogfight with my pilots?"
The young wolf glanced up at his captor. "Not like I had a choice. My wingman was a real hotshot, thought he could take your guys down. Guess he learned the hard way, eh?" he let a bit of a wry smile cross his face: his assigned wing for this mission was a total douchebag and he wasn't saddened to see him go.
Ty got up, began to circle the pilot. "You're Mark O'Donnell, huh? What was the name of your unit again?" "Sky Wolf." Mark said, growling a bit. "One of the top teams in Talon's rankings..."
Ty stopped circling and faced mark directly. "Talon? Who's Talon?" Mark tried to put up a wall. "No-one." He said, defensively. Ty wasn't buying it. "I'm gonna ask you again. Who is Talon?" Mark was sick of this whole interrogation thing. "They're the largest Jet thief organization in the multiverse, okay? They're like...like a governing body, kind of." He huffed, tired. "Please...I've had enough...I've got a splitting headache."
Ty sighed. He hated interrogations himself, and this one was taking it out of him. "Take an asprin, get back to your cell. We'll continue in the morning." The young wolf was taken from the room, and Ty held his head. No doubt the others in his squadron would be after him...Ty needed to keep this kid under close watch.
Them a rumbling noise and shouting out in the hall grabbed his attention.

Miles approached Leona with a smug look on his face. "Well, look what I just marked down in my logbook." He said, waving it in her face. Leona grabbed it, opened it, sighed, and tossed it back. "First kill. That's nice." She said, unimpressed.
Miles was a little hurt. She had said she'd be impressed when he made his first victory, after all. "Aw," he said, half-taunting, "I thought you'd be more impressed." Leona glared at Miles. "Luck, boy. You were lucky that you were fighting an ancient jet. A Mirage's about on the same level as an old F4 Phantom." "Luck!" Miles scoffed, "I think you need to take a look at my targeting tapes..."
Leona growled, and brought herself up to her full height, about the same as Miles. "Really, you want me to think that they didn't go easy on you in flight school? I got here through hard work...sweat and blood. I'll bet they fudged a grade here and there..."
Miles was angry now. "I had the same training as everyone else! Why would I..."
"Oh, and your uncle being married to the Princess has nothing to do with it? The fact that you worked with Sonic?"
Leona had just hit a nerve. True, he'd become somewhat of a hero fighting Eggman with his best buddy, and his uncle, Jim, was married to Princess Sally Acorn, one of the heirs to the Acornish throne, but Leona didn't know the sacrifices he'd made to do this...
"Leave my family and friends out of this."
"Why should I? You cheated. Admit it. You had it easy. You don't belong."
She shoved him. He shoved back. Shoving escalated to wrestling. And it was the wrestling that got Ty's attention.
"HEY! BREAK IT UP!"
Miles thought he felt his heart stop. He never thought he could go from rolling on the floor fighting with someone to standing at attention so quickly. Ty's look was sour, disappointed. He shot a piercing look into each pilot's eyes. He paced in front of them, and then spoke in a bitter tone.
"I am not...in the mood. I don't even want to hear how this started. Ever. All I know is that you two have NOT exhibited becoming behavior for my squadron. Protocol requires that I hand this sort of thing up to my superiors..."
Miles swallowed. It took all his strength to keep looking ahead. He hadn't been active one day, and he was already going to get kicked out.
"...But you two are too valuable to me. I'm going to give you two ONE chance...one chance to settle your differences like adults. Disciplined, military, adults."
Ty faced the two. "You two are assigned to guarding the prisoner tonight. You will listen; look for anything out of the ordinary. You will report anything to me. You will have a scanner to check for any sort of radio transmissions. And...You Will Get Along."
He gave each pilot one last glare. "Dismissed."
